On strip Epee troubleshooting


Faulty Ground Pin

Fencer A hits opponents bell guard -> Fencer A light turns on signaling a fault somewhere on the opponents side

Working from opponents side:

1. Unplug opponents epee, depress Fencer A tip on ground pin  of  opponents body cord (the pin by itself).

     No light -> broken epee STOP

2. Unplug back body cord, depress Fencer A tip on reel cable ground pin

    No light -> broken body cord  STOP

3. Unplug floor cable from reel, depress Fencer A tip on floor cable ground pin

    No light -> broken reel

     Light -> broken floor cable


Faulty A or B Pin

Fencer hit target area (opponent, toe, ungrounded floor, etc.) -> No light

Working from Fencers side:

1. Unplug epee,  touch A and B pins  of body cord to bell guard (or use key or coin)

   Lights on -> broken epee STOP

2. Unplug back body cord, touch A/B  pins of reel cable to bell guard

   Lights on -> broken body cord, STOP

3.  Unplug floor cable from reel, touch A/B pins of floor cable to bell guard.

    Lights on -> broken reel STOP

    Lights off -> broken Floor cable STOP
